Each night, at the landmark James Beard House in New York City, celebrated chefs at the top of their game from all across the nation cook for the world’s most passionate eaters, food editors and critics. Costa di Mare executive chef Mark LoRusso had the honor of hosting one of these showcase dinners, preparing his distinctive Italian coastal cuisine to a sold-out house. Now, our guests can savor the exact menu that was offered at the James Beard House, course for course, along with the wines that were paired to each dish. Live Dixieland jazz adds a unique flavor to The Country Club’s bountiful Sunday spread.
Chef Rene Lenger’s popular Sunday brunch at The Country Club
featuring the spirited jazz of a live Dixieland band is a weekly event not to be missed. Brunch is served buffet style and includes a carving station and selections from Lenger’s kitchen. Jazz brunch is served Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Join in aperitivo, a social experience that celebrates la dolce vita. Choose from a selection of small, sharable plates, like risotto fritters filled with short rib ragu, beef carpaccio, shrimp with pancetta, bruschetta, salumi, olives and more. Indulge in the house frittura—expertly fried Mediterranean fish with crispy artichoke and pickled lemon. A variety of classic Italian cocktails, beers and wines complement the plates. . Poke, the beloved Hawaiian dish, is traditionally fresh fish marinated in soy and sesame. Chef David Walzog reinterprets this classic for happy hour, including bigeye tuna with cucumber, ogo and ponzu; charred octopus with pickled daikon, hearts of palm and sea beans; pork belly with pineapple, sweet chili sauce and sesame rice; or ocean trout, with avocado, yuzu tobiko and sriracha aioli. The menu ranges from Wagyu short-rib loco moco with quail egg to Portuguese sausage sliders on sweet rolls with kimchi. Don’t forget the exceptional selection of chilled oysters available at happy hour, nightly from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
